Overdue and Lost Items

Library patrons are responsible for knowing when materials are due and for returning them on time.  Due dates can be found by logging in to your LibrarySearch account.  The Library attempts to notify borrowers when materials are overdue, but failure to receive notification does not absolve borrowers of fees.

Each long overdue item will be considered lost and will be billed per the following:

Books and Media $50 minimum lost item replacement fee; $10 non-refundable lost item processing fee
Chromebooks and Power Cords $250 lost item replacement fee; $25 non-refundable lost item processing fee
Course Reserves $50 minimum lost item replacement fee; $10 non-refundable lost item processing fee

Returning the item in good condition will waive the replacement fee, but not the the processing fee.

Who May Borrow Materials?

Albion College faculty, staff, and students may borrow Library materials with their valid Albion College ID card.  Albion community members may borrow Library materials with their valid Albion College Community Borrower ID card.  Walk-in patrons are welcome to use Library materials on site.  If you do not have an Albion College ID card, please borrow materials through MeLCat or Interlibrary Loan at your home library.

How to obtain an Albion College Community Borrower ID card:

Please see the Circulation Services Coordinator during business hours.  You must be 18 years of age with a valid Michigan ID and live in the City of Albion.  Spouses and children of Albion College faculty or staff are also eligible.
